Create a GPT

The ChatGPT feature set has expanded rapidly over the past month! In addition to executing Python, browsing the web, and uploading documents, ChatGPT now includes a new feature that allows you to create your own task-focused GPT.

GPT Builder

OpenAI is currently rolling out a new GPT Builder that guides you through a series of questions to create a version of a GPT tailored to a specific task.

The builder also has a configure section which allows for more advanced settings.

From what I can see, the natural language builder from the previous step simply helps you fill out some of the sections in the configure section. The bulk of the GPT config is done in the instructions box.

The config section also offers the ability to upload documents that contain "knowledge" on the domain of the GTP you're building.

The Actions section looks interesting. It offers the ability to hit API endpoints. I could have sworn I saw a more complex version last night that allowed hitting external endpoints but this morning it seems to be limited to OpenAI.

Using the new GPT

After saving the GPT you'll see that it's available on your home screen and off you go...

I noticed that it's easy to break out of the configured "personality". Writing a Python function doesn't seem like the type of thing a Portuguese Tutor would do.

No problem, you can enter the builder again and edit the GPT. Let's tell it to stick to "Portuguese Tutor Mode" at all times and return the phrase "N?o parece portuguêse!" if you user starts to drift off topic.
