Create an ESL Book in 30 minutes

Attention ESL teachers! Today, let's explore a quick and efficient method to craft an engaging and visually appealing English as a Second Language (ESL) PDF book that caters to students with diverse skill levels. With just 30 minutes of focused effort, you can create an educational masterpiece.

To embark on this journey, you'll need a few essential tools in your arsenal. First, GPT-4 is highly recommended for the best writing results, as it outperforms its free counterpart. However, if you don't have access to GPT-4, don't fret – you can still achieve your goal with a little extra writing effort. Second, you'll need access to MS Word (or similar text-writing software that can export or save documents as PDF files). Finally, you'll need access to Midjourney (or Stable Diffusion), although this guide focuses on using Midjourney.

During the first 5 minutes, create an /imagine prompt in Midjourney, depicting your main character. Choose the perfect image, upscale it, and gather the necessary information from the Midjourney bot, including the seed number.

React to the upscaled image with an Envelope emoticon. (Note that in --v 5 you need to react to the 2x2 image grid.)

You will receive a direct message by the bot that gives the exact seednumber you need for consistency.

Within the next 15 minutes you will be starting three tasks. Open a text editor and generate a series of image prompts. Add instructions for ChatGPT to follow, then paste the whole text including prompts into ChatGPT and just the /imagine prompts, sequentially, into Midjourney. While ChatGPT works on the story and Midjourney generates images, set up your MS Word document with your desired settings (e.g., A5 and minimal margins).

I have a series of consistent art work created based on these prompts. I need a story to fit them. A nice tale for a 12 year-old to read in advanced ESL classes. By using the understanding you generate the prompts i provide, you may add to the story as needed if you provide /imagine prompts that fit the added scenes. Here are the prompts to base the story on:/imagine prompt:Woman with curly red hair in a dress, closeup face, short blue polka-dot dress. cartoon style. --v 5 --seed 34998741

Now you just have to wait for the two AIs to complete their tasks.Once ChatGPT has completed the story, copy and paste it into your Word document using the 'Merge Formatting' option.

With your text in place, spend the next 10 minutes pasting and arranging the upscaled images in your document, ensuring they align with the story. Take this opportunity to add or rewrite sentences to create a unique, personalized product.

I upscaled the image I found most consistent.

Finally, spend the last 5 minutes reviewing the text and images, making any necessary adjustments. Export or print your document as a PDF, and you'll have successfully created an ESL book in just 30 minutes!

If you include a URL link to the first generated image in every text prompt, the consistency can turn out even better.

Don't forget, you can also enhance your ESL book by incorporating questions, a dictionary, or a thesaurus. To do this, simply provide the appropriate instructions to ChatGPT. There are numerous ways to format the output using markup, ensuring a polished and professional appearance for your educational resource. While this guide doesn't cover the specifics of formatting, a little experimentation with ChatGPT will open up a world of possibilities to make your ESL book even more valuable for your students.

With these added components, your ESL book becomes a comprehensive and interactive tool that encourages student engagement and helps them better understand the content. Embrace the power of technology and creativity to create truly memorable learning experiences for your students. The sky's the limit!
