Create Content That Counts!

Don't simply create content to create content, create content that counts! Create content that engages your viewers and have a strategy in place for how and when you will distribute this content to guarantee maximum results.

I like to follow the "Triple D's"

1 - Discover your target audience

Before you even think about starting to come up with your marketing plan, you must first discover who your target audience is. If you do not have a target audience, you are more than likely going to be wasting your time on content that will miss your target.

Research who your "buyers" are and then dig even deeper into what motivates these people to make decisions. What are there biggest influences? What are their favorite hobbies? Why should they care about YOUR product/service?

2 - Design a content strategy

Once your target audience has been discovered you can begin to design a content strategy. Think about your client/business, would TV be best? Maybe radio? What about social media…? Designing a good content strategy will most likely include at least two of these, if not all three, as well as other methods like e-newsletters, print ads, blogs, and much more.

Your content strategy needs to be planned well ahead and you must have a calendar or other organizational tool to keep you on track of when you are going to distribute each piece of content.

3 - Distribute your content in the most effective way possible

Effective distribution is key! Even if you have the most amazing social media idea that is really going to turn heads, if you distribute this content at the wrong time, your results will show it. Make sure to study your target audience and their TV, radio, web, and social media habits. When are they most likely to check in on social media? What time are they most likely to be watching TV? These are all key things to think about before distributing your amazing content.
