Move Your Audience & Generate Sales
Through my various years of hosting live events I’ve seen a lot of people give presentations, workshops and speeches. Some presenters were naturally better at communicating than others. However, an elite few have blown me away at how effective they are at getting people to take action by “selling to the back of the room.” I have seen some really effective closers that were able to generate more sales because they knew how to build value and end their talk with a strong and compelling call to action.
Whether you are marketing ideas online or sharing them in person, having clear calls to action are critical if you want people to move. The main reason most people aren’t successful with this approach is because they don’t even ask people to take action. If they do ask, they haven’t made it really clear or made it easy to do. When you can give someone clear, easy direction to act in a way that would be valuable to them and add a bit of urgency to the situation you have yourself a winner.
Rather than focusing on running more ads or doing more social posts to try to get more business, spend focused time refining your message and calls to action.
To do this, you must first have something of value that is marketable. Then you must create a compelling message that gets people to take the first step in their journey with you. Ask for too much too early and you can lose someone for good. Begin by aiming for an initial smaller action and then build up from there. When you think about it, it’s kind of like dating. Don’t ask someone to get married before you hold hands.
