Crazy World Requires Crazy Methods

Crazy World Requires Crazy Methods

When was the last time you did a handstand? And I mean just because you wanted, not because you were told so by your yoga teacher? I find it the simplest way to change perspective and I would encourage you to do it, too.

There are tonnes of books that talk about changing perspective, trying to think differently. One of them is a reason I am writing this article, actually. Over the years we have been thought that there is one best method to do things properly, but the truth is, it doesn't. Especially now, when we are 'getting ready' for another lockdown, we are all racking our brains to figure out, how to adopt, how to change, so our business is not affected. Am I right?

The best way to adopt is to learn how to change quickly and make (not just) your marketing strategy more effective. See a few examples on how to attempt that. I would strongly encourage you to do at least one and see where it takes you. Here we go...

Headstand

Literally, do it and do it NOW! Think of the scariest business or marketing challenge you have at the moment and do a headstand. The best ideas come to us in the least expected moments and poses.

You may not have the answer straight away, but you can feel the blood circulating in your body, and because of a physical change, you are more likely to experience the change in a way you think about your challenge.

Come on, this is pretty logical, so what are you waiting for?

Talk to a Stranger

It's people you meet on your way that most likely change the way you look at things. Talking to a stranger about your promotional ideas will give you instant feedback, even better if it is a person ticks all the boxes of your 'customer persona'. I know it is uncomfortable to talk to people on the street nowadays, but feel free to connect to people on social media. You never know what may come out of it.

I recently did an experiment, where I connected to people who had kind faces (profile photos on Facebook) and I was amazed by the results. All of them connected back, but only a couple asked why I wanted to connect. I told them why I did and we started chatting, exchanging experience, advising. Say what you want, but I think the personal touch still counts and yes, you can look at the reports, but the real feedback on what you do and the ideas you have come from PEOPLE.

So I challenge you, to talk to a total stranger, even from another side of the world and run your ideas past them. See how they react and how their response makes you feel. I bet it will bring you another layer to your business or marketing plan.

Show YOUR Real World

Why? you may ask. Well, why not?! Take the courage to post a photo of you in a totally different scenario and see who tunes in, then? Do 'Behind the scenes' or 'Before and After' so your customers can understand that it's not a '5-minute job' and then less like to challenge the price massively.

We are so used to photoshopped and beautified images, but the real world is not like that, is it? Tell people what you struggle with. They often come running to help you, this is what we have been designed to do. At the same time, you will gain true followers, people who will recommend you because they can see you are REAL.

Next time you post, show a snippet or your world and maker sure you respond to what they are saying. It made a change for me on numerous occasions. Go on, be brave and just do it. No filters allowed. You will thank me later.

I would love to hear which method you used and how it affected your marketing. I am all up for making a change and helping however I can. If you found other radical (i.e. crazy) methods effective, I'd be more than happy to try them, too.

I'd love to hear from you, especially if you have a great marketing challenge. I do not take new clients lightly, but always have a space to take on an interesting project.
