D.A. Bourne is an author and rapper whose desire is to bring life and integrity through urban fiction. He was born in Steinbach, Manitoba but has lived in various locations throughout Manitoba, Alberta and Ontario, as well as some time in The Bahamas. D.A currently resides in Brampton, Ontario with his wife and four children. In 1999 D.A received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies from the University of Windsor. Book Review About D.A. Bourne's Book "That Crazy Weekend - The Phat Five Book 1"

D.A. Bourne written an interesting unique Christian Book "The Phat Five -That Crazy Weekend" . This is the first book that I am reading by Mr. Bourne. I noticed his book in a Facebook Group that based on Christian Books. I asked the Author this question, "Is this book is a Christian Based Book? I only asked because I wasn't sure because of the title of the book. Mr. Bourne assured me that his Book is definitely a Christian based novel. So I decided to purchased this book and I started to read it. I am so glad that I did read this book. You can't always judge the book by it's cover. Did I mentioned "That Crazy Weekend" is part one in The Phat Five Series. The narrative is about the Phat Five who are best friends. Their annual weekend once a year takes place at Windsor College Jam fest.

The characters, Teddy and his lady has moved to a new residence at Windsor College in the purpose to be on the committee for the Jam Fest. He promised his boys to provide them free passes. Before long after his arrival at Windsor College, Teddy's companion got saved and he soon followed her down the aisle. Teddy is so excited with his new life in Christ except he doesn't know how to tell his boys. The reader is introduced to Ajani who works for Fed Ex but he deals with drugs as a side hustles. He and his lady have a son together. His co-workers in the drug business is jealous of his relationship with the big boss. They makes sure that they set him Ajani up to look like he betrayed his boss. At the moment, that boss wants to make Ajani pay dearly with his life. During his journey to the Jam Fest, Ajani must make a drop off with the drugs that will destroy him. Eros is a player who is currently lives with his lady. that isn't going to stop Eros from cheating with other women when he is attended the Jam Fest. He was supposed to meet up with a woman that he recently met but he didn't get a chance to sleep with her. That one woman that got away. His father produces porn and Eros is fascination with her. It's all he thinks of or talks about.

Q is the only one of the five to marry. He's only been married nine months. When he married her Q had hoped to be professional ball player but due to an injury he couldn't play any more. Now Q must make it up to his wife so he works as many hours as he can basically neglecting his wife. K.J. is a hair dresser. He was once a part of a rapper duo. K.J. wrote the verse but his partner went on to be famous without him. K.J. was left behind although he did write verse for his ex partner for awhile. His ex partner stole his woman and now K.J.'s one desire is to win the Jam Fest. His ex partner arrives to his shop to let him know he will be competing with him this year. In such a way, life will sets you up for that crazy week end. God truly has a plan for these men just like us who are reading this story. God's design is a great plan for hope and a future. God has a plan for us too. A plan for a hope and a future. God loves you and only wants greatness for us. We must give God our heart and soul so we witness the change in our life. The characters are so believable. "That Crazy Weekend" was a great start to The Phat Five Book Series. Not only were there raging moments in this book, but I believe the readers will appreciate the deep conversations which were placed in this story as well. As Christians, it can be hard to share the gospel with others, but this book has encouraged the readers to share the good news with the lost. I am looking forward to reading the next two parts in The Phat Five Book Series.
