Crawled, but not indexed: thin content OR duplicate content

'Not indexed' means Google is not listing your web pages.

So people will not find your page unless they write the full URL or click the link.

It's bad.

You can check your indexed pages by googling “site:domain.name” If you see fewer pages than what you have, the reason can be thin content or duplicate content on your pages.?

Google Search Console will tell you a bit more information about what’s going on with your missing pages. There are various reasons for not being indexed. However, you need to discover the details for not being indexed.?

When Search Console says your pages have been crawled but not indexed, it means your page is not elected to be shown on the search results. And your efforts need to target to be elected with relevant and high-quality content.?

Thin content is quite a common reason for not being listed, along with duplicate content. You can see other reasons here on Moz’s article: https://moz.com/blog/crawled-currently-not-indexed-coverage-status

Content writing is serious; take it seriously

-------------

If your page is just listing technical features, this is thin content.

If your page has only customer reviews, this may be thin content.

If your text is just copy-paste or slightly rewritten, this is duplicate content.?

-------------

IMPORTANT: In these cases, your article will not be on the result pages. If you're not listed, ranking higher is not even a thing.

The first GOAL is to be among the result.

That’s why you need unique, high quality and relevant content to be listed on the result pages.

That’s why you need a content writer or editor who will write your content without word-stuffing or copy-pasting from competitors.?

How to be indexed (aka. listed)

As there are various reasons why you're not listed; so there are various solution. However, in general, you need high-quality, relevant, and unique pages to be listed. All your website should be so for better results.

If your problem is thin content on your page, you need to add more content. So to say: convert it to thick content.

EAT is the key to 'good content':

Expertise,

Authoritativeness,

Trustworthiness.

When you have these three qualities, Google will consider you more informative and helpful for its users.?

If your problem is duplicate content on your page, you need to take action immediately. Google removes the duplicate content from the result pages for a better service for their users.

Be like Google.

Remove the duplicate content and create your unique one.?

Long story short:

Google is a sophisticated company and doesn't want to keep the users busy with useless content. Otherwise, it would lose users.

It's not much different from a coffee shop trying to serve the best coffee in town to be sustainable. Google is selecting the best content to provide search result to its users, just like a good coffee shop selecting the best coffee beans in the world.
