One of the best investments you will make this fall in September is to attend a second annual global event in pharma and biotech that is designed to inspire, challenge, and reward you with meaning and certainty during a time of disorder, a shared experience you will not forget, exclusive Olympic caliber community of scientists, and prizes you will be guaranteed to bring to good use immediately - the 2023 Medical Affairs Innovation Olympics #MAIO2023 (registration link for competitors or attendees ). At this event you will take part in a timeless, intense format of competition over 16 days to champion our contributions across healthcare into a new Global Destiny and?Prosperity!?

We are advancing far past our ambitions alone in identifying, screening, and personalizing treatments earlier for new patients worldwide as well as in implementing AI to accelerate drug development and diagnose diseases. Yet the volume of medical publications is doubling, the costs of medical care are increasing, demand from patients and healthcare professionals to know what part of decision-making in healthcare they truly own and government pressures to restrict resources which may possibly limit long-term innovation are rising, while the health of our global ecosystem is declining rapidly and has reached a critical point.?

A person who lives in a particular location in this world should not have to wait for years until the new treatment or trial also makes it to their country or town.

A patient that moves from one hospital or doctor to another should claim and access their data easily in real-time wherever they go next.

With more ways to communicate and find information than ever, a person who changes jobs or retires should be able to have full certainty of continuing to receive preventive, maintenance, or rescue care, as well as medical information to make more confident decisions in their own care.

And regardless of the doctor, hospital or health insurance coverage, because of the incredible advances we have recently made in medicine, pharma and biotech, a patient anywhere on this earth should expect to receive a sufficiently high quality of care for a reasonable chance to improve, prolong his/her life or survive.

1. As a result, the fundamental platform for this year's event is intended to inspire attendees and competitors to connect our health to that of our planet, and visualize farther and longer ahead than ever before in order to assume a more global responsibility for not only what we do but how we innovate to ultimately benefit our human longevity, environment and society at large for generations ahead.

2. The specific emphasis of this year's edition of the Olympics will be to give life to new real world operations and appropriate implementation of the best ideas that advance?Access, Continuity, and Quality of healthcare.?

At the first ever Innovation Olympics last year,?our winners and finalists demonstrated new technology solutions to:

  1. Transform interactions between pharma and healthcare professionals
  2. Improve clinical point of care decision-making based on real-time treatment guidelines
  3. Seamlessly connect patients to clinical trials worldwide through consolidated data on study criteria and investigators
  4. Simplify integrated summaries and analysis of scientific conferences,
  5. Create a global online employee community of patients who guided clinical and business development at a large global pharmaceutical company.

The amount of networking and new economic opportunities the event created last year exceeded all expectations. Several competitors from last year recognized this event to directly contribute to their startup's success and new business partnerships (Telemedicx ), and have since announced a successful raise of $5 million in a seed round (AvoMD ). Thus in 2022 we recognized that innovation takes competition, risk, but also collaboration and we "dared to share for our healthcare" ideas globally across pharma and biotech in Medical Affairs.?

However, the pace of change since last year alone calls for more guides to heroes in healthcare across pharma, biotech and life sciences who can inspire them to connect their daily contributions to their global responsibility to extend the pulse of life of patients and this planet, environment, and society. Therefore, this year the stakes are higher and even more critical, and the prizes will be even more significant - $10,000 to the gold medal winner of the Top Idea of the Year, followed by $5,000 to the silver medalist, and $3,000 to the bronze medalist, among many other prizes and recognitions across various categories.?

The event will take place virtually September 18 through October 4 over two rounds of elimination followed by live stream semifinals and final.

The event truly brought to life and celebrated the character of this new yet timeless format of ideation and competition because of the unprecedented quality of ideas submitted from all the competitors including those who did not advance as well as the unprecedented level of excitement and engagement that unequivocally filled the room.
