Cracking the Code: How freshers can identify in-demand IT skills?

Just graduated and eager to break into the exciting world of IT? The key lies in identifying the skills that are hottest in the market!

Here is my roadmap to becoming an in-demand IT professional:

Job Boards & Industry Reports:

Explore job boards like Naukri.com, Indeed or LinkedIn Jobs and analyze the skills frequently mentioned in postings for your desired role and experience. Industry reports from reputable firms like Gartner or Forrester can also provide valuable insights.

Job Boards:

Targeted Searches: Go beyond just searching for job titles. Use relevant keywords and filters to find postings for your desired IT field (e.g., cybersecurity analyst, software developer).

Skill Spotting: Analyze the "Skills" or "Qualifications" section in job descriptions. Look for skills that are consistently mentioned across multiple postings. Focus on those that appear in both entry-level and more experienced roles. This indicates a long-term need for the skill.

Advanced Search Features: Many job boards allow advanced searches by location, company size or date posted. Utilize these features to target the most relevant postings and identify emerging trends in your specific job market.

Industry Reports:

Reputable Sources: Look for reports from established IT research firms like #Gartner, #Forrester or 国际数据公司 . These reports often forecast future trends and highlight the skills employers will need to address those trends.

Skills Gap Analysis: Reports often identify gaps between existing skills in the workforce and the skills required for future technologies. This is a goldmine for freshers, as these "gap" skills are likely to be in high demand.

Focus Areas: Look for reports specific to your desired IT field or industry vertical (e.g., healthcare IT, fintech). These reports will provide targeted insights into the most relevant skills for your career path.

Here are some additional tips:

Save & Organize: Bookmark relevant job postings and reports for future reference. You can also create a spreadsheet to track the most frequently mentioned skills.

Cross-reference: Compare the skills you find on job boards with those highlighted in industry reports. This will help you identify areas of strong overlap, solidifying the importance of those skills.

By combining the insights from job boards and industry reports, you will be well on your way to identifying the in-demand IT skills that will make you a valuable asset in the job market.
