Women @ Work Insights

Deloitte just released its Women at Work 2023 Report, and here are 5 things we learned:?

  1. 30% of women surveyed worldwide said flexibility is more about when they work, and it was much more important to them than flexibility around where they work.
  2. Flexibility leads to a higher degree of employer loyalty, with 2/3 of women in highly flexible work arrangements saying they plan to stay with their company for more than 3 years.
  3. Women don’t feel comfortable taking advantage of flexible work options – 97 percent believe requesting or taking advantage of flexible working would affect their likelihood of promotion.
  4. Burnout rates have dropped, non-inclusive behaviors have declined, and hybrid work experiences have improved.?
  5. Just 5% of women view their employers as leaders in gender equality.?

"What is the main reason for wanting to leave your employer?" Deloitte Women at Work 2023

The #1 reason women are considering leaving their employer is due to the lack of flexibility in hours - not location.?

Flexible work is crucial for productivity and engagement. Managers must prioritize flexibility as an incentive to remain competitive.

An example of providing flexibility in hours is providing working mothers with the ability to start work earlier in the day so they can be home when their children get home from school.
