The Cracked Pot
A water bearer in a small village carried two large pots, each hanging on either end of a pole across his shoulders. One pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. The other pot had a crack, and by the time they reached the master's house, it had leaked half its water.
For two years, this went on daily. The perfect pot was proud of its accomplishment, but the cracked pot felt ashamed of its imperfection and apologized to the water bearer.
The water bearer smiled and said, “Did you notice the flowers growing along the path on your side? I’ve always known about your flaw. I planted flower seeds there, and every day as we walk, you water them. For two years, I’ve been able to pick beautiful flowers to decorate my master’s table. Without you, this beauty wouldn’t exist.”
Moral: Our flaws can create unexpected beauty. Embrace your imperfections—they often bring value in ways you don’t realize.
