Were you feeling crabby at the end of last year when you thought about what you hadn't done?
You’re not alone. This time of the new year can stir up all sorts of feelings—frustration over what didn’t get done last year, memories of the exhaustion from the relentless pace, and the vague sense of “Is this it?” And while it’s tempting to get stuck in what’s missing, allow me to gently remind you to take a step back and see the bigger picture.
You probably did more than you think last year.
Making progress isn’t just about ticking boxes or smashing through to-do lists. It’s about the moments that often go unnoticed: the time you supported someone through a tough situation, the clarity you brought to a confusing challenge, or the way you stayed grounded (or at least mostly!) in the face of complexity.
If you’re feeling over it, maybe it’s because the weight of ‘doing’ has taken over the meaning of ‘being’. What if you let go of what wasn’t “perfect” this year and focused instead on what mattered?
Here’s a nudge:

For me, 2025 is about setting foundations for progress—intentional, thoughtful progress towards amplifying insight and wisdom as far-flung as possible. It’s about leaning into what feels meaningful and letting go of the rest.
So, if the end of the year had you feeling crabby, tired, or just over it, know it’s okay. You did more than enough. Take a moment to breathe, reflect, and maybe even celebrate—not just what you’ve done but who you’ve been.
Here’s to 2025: being less about doing more and more about becoming the person you’re meant to be.
Warmly, Desley
