CPET logs
Corrosion Protection Evaluation Tool (CPET) logs are done for well casings by lowering a special wireline logging tool inside the casing to determine:
1.??????If the casing is externally corroding
2.??????The formation depth for a known corrosive zone
3.??????Anodic and cathodic zones (long-line corrosion) outside the casing
4.??????If CP is needed/effective in suppressing corrosion at that depth
5.??????How much CP is needed to control corrosion to acceptable limits
6.??????Is the casing being interfered-with when existing in close proximity of nearby wells
The company operat? the CPET tool and they need an expert to stay with them in their truck while logging to direct them as to where to start logging, the need to temperature stabilize the tool knife contacts, the speed of lifting up the tool, where to repeat logging a certain corrosive zone and when to repeat the entire log while running both/either static and/or dynamic logs when the rectifier is being cycled on/off.?We have collected experience in logging more than 20 wells for over 20 years.
