CP Tech Center Highlights Resources on Internal Curing
Expanded Shale, Clay and Slate Institute
ESCSI is the association for manufacturers of rotary kiln-produced expanded shale, clay and slate lightweight aggregate.
The CP Tech Center Guide Specification for Internally Curing Concrete provides guidance for the development of project specifications for internally cured concrete projects. The guide is designed to supplement the agency’s standard specifications for concrete pavement. ESCSI at Vancouver, BC
#ESCSI participated in the #GeoCongress2024 exhibition in Vancouver, BC, Canada, showcasing the results of the recent project on electrochemical properties of #ESCS. The poster highlighted the contributions of #ESCS to address corrosion rate for embedded steel materials in geotechnical backfills like mechanicall stablizes earth walls.

New Addition to ACI Membership
ACI Released the 2023 Reapproved PRC-213-14(23) Guide for Structural Lightweight-Aggregate Concrete. "The guide summarizes the present state of technology, presents and interprets the data on lightweight-aggregate concrete from many laboratory studies and the accumulated experience resulting from its successful use, and reviews performance of structural lightweight aggregate concrete in service. This guide includes a definition of lightweight-aggregate concrete for structural purposes and discusses, in a condensed fashion, the production methods for and inherent properties of structural lightweight aggregates. Current practices for proportioning, mixing, transporting, and placing; properties of hardened concrete; and the design of structural concrete with reference to ACI 318 are all discussed."
