I am excited to be a part of The Doe Fund, an organization that has not only given me the opportunity to work but has also reinforced my belief in the power of hard work and perseverance. My journey here is built on a foundation of hands-on experience in waste management and staffing, which has prepared me to take on new challenges with determination and insight.

From the Back of a Garbage Truck to Changing the Environmental Outcome

Before joining The Doe Fund, I worked for waste management as a labor threw complete labor staffing also working as a lumper @ People Ready Staffing. One of my most formative experiences was working on the back of a garbage truck, where I learned firsthand the physical and mental endurance needed to handle daily operations. This role not only strengthened my work ethic but also provided me with a deep understanding of waste management logistics, recycling processes, and environmental impacts. These lessons have been instrumental in shaping my vision for the future.

From Dutchess County to Manhattan: Equal Value in Experience

My experience in waste management from Dutchess County has proven invaluable in my work now in Manhattan. Understanding waste processing and sustainability in different environments has given me a unique perspective on how to implement efficient and impactful waste solutions in a major city. The challenges may be different, but the fundamental principles remain the same—proper waste management and recycling can lead to transformational environmental change.

Encounter with the Guardian Angels Leader in Midtown

Recently, while on my route in East Midtown, in front of the IBM building, I had the unexpected honor of running into the leader of the Guardian Angels. We took a picture together, marking a moment where two different missions—community safety and environmental transformation—intersected. This encounter reinforced my commitment to being an active participant in improving the urban environment, not just in waste management but in fostering a cleaner, safer city.

Lessons from Waste Management Facilities and Recycling Innovations

Throughout my journey, I have gained valuable insights from learning about waste processing plants and facilities. These experiences have given me a broader perspective on how waste is sorted, processed, and repurposed. One of the most exciting moments came when I had the unique opportunity to visit the Saudi Prince’s home of garbage and recycling. Seeing cutting-edge waste management techniques in action was a game-changer, reinforcing my drive to implement innovative solutions.

Another unforgettable experience was at Bill Gates’ daughter’s house, where she personally came out and engaged with us for hours. Her curiosity and willingness to discuss recycling and waste management strategies left a lasting impact on me, further igniting my passion for improving environmental outcomes.

Of all my experiences, working at The Doe Fund has been the most rewarding. This organization has not only given me a stable foundation to grow but has also allowed me to be part of a greater mission—improving communities while fostering environmental responsibility. Every day, I am reminded that small efforts can lead to significant change. With the knowledge I have gained from waste management, recycling innovations, and serving communities, I am committed to making a lasting impact in shaping a more sustainable future.
