COVIE: Growing Through the Challenges

At COVIE, we have redefined co-living with modern and luxurious amenities across our properties in five cities. We believe in providing comfort and convenience to our community of residents, including students and working professionals.

We are grateful to have catered to a community of over 7,000+ COVIANS. While we have gained popularity in redefining co-living spaces, we face a few challenges. Here are some of the key challenges we tackle and how we overcome them:

1. Maintaining a Clean Space

At COVIE, we treat our properties as a second home for our residents. Like any home, one of the biggest challenges for co-living is maintaining cleanliness. With so many residents occupying the space, areas like kitchenettes, rooms, gyms, and common areas can quickly become cluttered and untidy.

How we overcome this:

COVIE has a professional housekeeping team that ensures these areas get cleaned and sanitized regularly. We have well-established guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure the cleaning schedule is followed strictly. Our commitment to cleanliness helps provide the highest standards and creates a welcoming environment for our community.

2. Balancing Privacy and Security

As our residents come from diverse backgrounds and are both males and females, it is crucial to ensure that their privacy is respected while keeping them safe.

How we overcome this:

At COVIE, we provide separate floors for males and females to maintain privacy. Our co-living spaces in Delhi, along with our locations in Bangalore, Gurugram, Pune, and Mumbai, are designed with specific floors for women, which are not allowed to be entered by men. CCTV cameras are strategically placed throughout the property for surveillance, while our dedicated 24x7 security ensures residents feel safe and secure. Additionally, we have a female attendant stationed at the property, and the matron is also a female, ensuring that we do not compromise the security and safety of our residents. Our common areas are designed in such a way that residents can choose with whom they want to interact, further enhancing the feeling of privacy and comfort.

3. Embracing Cultural Diversity

Our residents come from different regions and backgrounds, and sometimes this diversity can create challenges in fostering harmony among them. However, we embrace this diversity and work hard to build a united community.

How we overcome this:

To maintain a welcoming environment, we have established clear rules and guidelines. We host a range of cultural events and engagement activities across all our properties, which help residents connect and build a sense of community. Our celebrations include festivals, games, mini-parties, and other events that promote inclusivity and encourage cultural exchange.

4. Catering to Diverse Food Preferences

With residents from different parts of the country (and sometimes the world), we face the challenge of catering to varying food preferences. What one resident enjoys may be different from another’s choice.

How we overcome this:

We ensure a wide variety of meal options for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Additionally, we host special gala dinners on festive occasions. All meals are prepared with hygiene and strict supervision to meet the needs of our diverse community.

5. Security Deposits

One of the challenges faced by any business, especially in the co-living space, is managing the security deposit process. With many residents moving in and out, it is crucial to ensure timely refunds of security deposits when they move out.

How we overcome this:

To streamline the security deposit process, we have tied up with a third-party service provider. This partnership helps reduce the floating funds issue and ensures that residents don’t have to worry about the delay in receiving their security deposit refunds. This makes the process smoother for both the residents and COVIE.

COVIE continues to redefine the concept of co-living spaces by prioritizing community, convenience, and care for all our COVIANS.
