COVID vs KOVID
This is not one of those articles that will give you steps to do during the COVID-19 pandemic. I do not aim to spread much knowledge in this article either.
First of all, it has been over 4 weeks that I have not seen anything other than the walls of my bedroom. And here, I was supposed to be wondering about the economy, about tomorrow, of course about the probable recession, and related things…
But, I have simply been busy thinking about who named this virus Corona? I loved that beer.
I have also been thinking about my colleagues Achal and Dhaval - who shaved their heads; along with the beard.
How weird that my colleague Kanchi survived 16 seasons of Grey's Anatomy to finally realise - yes, it is over (for now).
I myself, finally went back to last season of Game of Thrones and decided to forgive Benioff and Weiss.
But more importantly, I have also been thinking what could businesses do about their marketing approach during this unprecedented, unpredictable, and yet - opportune time?
For starters, take a step back and relax for a few days - because jumping here and there won't solve your problems. Certainly, it is not something anyone could have planned. It is indeed an opportune period, if you are into entertainment business.
It is a grey zone, if your business depends on logistics, non-essentials, and manufacturing. My advice to these businesses would be to take the time off. Connect with your consumers; run a few surveys; and prepare for your approach on how to get back in the game better, when the lockdown is over.
Overall, it is also the time to review the tools of your business. We are always so busy managing the needs of today; we forget to focus on the changing needs of your business. It could be the website, the CRM, your lead management system, the automation tool you have been planning (for a decade?), or a new vendor you need(ed?) - but never had the time to work out your requirements.
You have plenty of time to focus on discussing the challenges within your organisation, list the requirements, connect with a million vendors across the world, and probably choose one.
Oh well, KOVID is just the name we gave to one of our teammates, and he is also wondering from where it all started. Instead of worrying about the given name, KOVID chose to find a new hope for tomorrow than worrying about COVID-issues and be COVIDIOT.
So which one are you?
