COVID-19, WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?

A NATIONAL EMERGENCY, A WORLDWIDE PANDEMIC: Why is Covid-19 killing so many people? Today, the President and Health experts said 100,000 to 200,000 will die in the NEXT few weeks! If nothing had been done, as many suggested, the death toll would be between 1.6 and 2.2 Million in the United States.

Why is this Pandemic from Covid-19 happening?

Bill, a good friend from High School, died. My classmates have sent several emails talking about him; Bill was one of the nicest people I have ever met. After 50 years, no one can think of anything bad about him. He had a great wife, and family. His wife, Jill, wrote a beautiful tribute, “The Top 14 Things Bill Schoonmaker Loved”.

Shortly before Bill died, two other close friends passed on. Dan Wooding was the nicest man I have ever known. I met him when one night Rick Wakeman gave a concert at church. I was so amazed at his talent, I went over to talk with him at the bookstore after church. Dan Wooding was standing right there, and after I spoke with Rick, Dan introduced himself. That was the beginning of a great friendship. When God gave me the idea for a book, I asked Dan if he’d like to write it. When we worked together on it, we became even better friends.

Today, 3,896 deaths have been reported from Covid-19. More than the number who died on the attack of 9-11-2001. The President said today, “We will have 2 very difficult weeks”.

The above is shared because I just celebrated two (2) birthdays. The first is the day my Jewish mother gave birth to me. She gave me up for adoption (I am so thankful she did NOT have me aborted). The second is the day I was Born Again, when I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior.

Both days were special, in part because I almost went to Heaven 5 months ago. I went to the Emergency Room, and the Doctor there told me I would have to spend a few days in ICU. My temperature was 106 degrees, from an infection, and if they couldn’t bring it down, I could die.

So I look at these birthdays as a“Bonus”.   

Due to the social distancing rules, I spent both days in my home. On top of the Covid-19 deaths, and the death of my 3 friends, I was thinking about the question: Why?

Do you know how many people will die during the Tribulation?

Indeed, do you know what the Tribulation is? Recently I finished reading the New Testament. The last book in the New Testament is the Book of Revelation. It is the Revelation of the last days on earth, given by God to John. If you already knew this (or even if you did not) write down how many people you think will die during the Tribulation. [Go ahead, write it down now; anywhere handy.]

On January 10, 2020, I wrote an article on “The Book of Life”. I went to Google to find the population of the world, about 7.5 Billion. Just a minute ago, I went to Google again; now it says the world population is 7.8 Billion. The next major event, based on the 700 + prophecies in the Bible will be the Rapture of the church. Jesus will save His church from the Tribulation, By the way, when Jesus came to earth the first time, He fulfilled over 300 prophecies of the Messiah. (He will fulfill the rest when He comes the second time.) The article on “The Book of Life” goes into much greater detail.

Hypothetically, if we assume that 800,000 people are “caught up” to be with Jesus in Heaven when the Rapture happens in “the twinkling of an eye” (VERY fast; NOT long enough for a prayer!) that will leave about 7 Billion people on earth. When the Tribulation takes place for seven (7) years, one half of the world’s population will die, ie. 3.5 Billion! The world has never seen such destruction nor will it even see such destruction again.

You may be thinking, “So what does this have to do with Covid-19?

Here are my thoughts for your consideration on Why the Covid-19 Pandemic is happening:

1.    This is a BIG Wake-up call to God’s 7.8 Billion people. Is your name in the Book of Life?
2.    Have you asked Jesus to be your Lord and Savior?
3.     China is probably suffering much more than we will ever know. As a communist country, they do NOT allow the worship of Jesus. Although the underground church in China is huge, and the Holy Spirit is doing great miracles there, it is not allowed by the government.
4. Since this Pandemic started in China, this may be a Big Wake-up call for China & the world.

Jesus spoke of these days when He was asked by His disciples:

Mat 24:3   As He was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to Him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and what will be the sign of Your coming, and of the end of the age?”               

Mat 24:4 And Jesus answered and said to them, “See to it that no one misleads you.   

Mat 24:5 “For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will mislead many.

Mat 24:6   “You will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end.

Mat 24:7   “For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes.

Mat 24:8      “But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs.

Mat 24:9   “Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.

Mat 24:10   “At that time many will fall away and will betray one another and hate one another. Mat 24:11   “Many false prophets will arise and will mislead many.                                                   

Mat 24:12   “Because lawlessness is increased, most people’s love will grow cold.

Mat 24:13   “But the one who endures to the end, he will be saved.

Mat 24:14   “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come.
