Covid-19 Vs RISC-V (Semiconductor Design Services Company)
Covid -19 is no more, but RISC-V is. Both originated from one country (Debatable). Covid was dangerous, but RISC-V is revolutionary. However, RISC-V processors have a great potential to shift the focus of the semiconductor world.
Although Indian companies are giving their best effort to evolve as product companies, a large portion of Indian companies are keen on services business for products from various parts of the world.
Design services companies globally are busy with signature
manufacturers in helping them design their products to achieve their specs. But significant thought to ponder upon is RISC- V. Although RISC- V processors are looked upon as a replacement for entry-level processors & microcontrollers.
It's now catering to many complex applications like IoT, AI, Automotive & Computing too. Google, Alibaba, NVIDIA, Huawei, and Western Digital are the members of RISC-V community. Although the US government had announced sales restrictions to Nvidia & AMD on high-end graphic chips.
RISC-V influenced laws and policies too, across various countries, and inclusion in Atmanirbhar Bharat Abhiyan, the European chip act, the European processor initiative, United States Innovation and Competition Act of 2021 are the thought considering points.
