COVID-19 Updated on 3/18/2020: symptoms
Can a common person identify he or she got Corona Virus, instead of Cold or Flu or Allergy? The answer is YES.
First let hava a look at symptons from COVID-19, Cold, Flu and Allergy, as listed by WHO and NY Times:
From the table we can see that:
+ There ten symptoms, i.e. Fever, Fatigue, Cough, Sneezing, Aches and Pains, Runny or Stuffy Nose, Sore throat, Diarrhea, Headaches, and Shortness of Breath
+ the four disease of COVID-19, Cold, Flu and Allergy can show five level symptoms from "Common", "Sometimes", "Mild", "Rare", and "No". For simplicity, we regroup "Sometimes" and "Mild" as "Sometimes", regroup "Rare" and "No" as "No", thus we get three levels of severity, i.e., "Common", "Sometimes", "No", as shown below:
Then we can find out COVID-19 demonstrates four unique symptoms, from which we can discriminate COVID-19 from Cold, Flu or Allergy:
+ Sometimes Aches and Pains
+ No Runny or Stuffy Nose
+ Sometimes Headaches
+ Sometimes Shortness of Breath
