Into week 3 of ‘lockdown’. The weather is better which makes the early morning walks more pleasant. I’m now firmly in shorts for the foreseeable (or I get to go back in the office), and just playing the waiting game.
Obviously in the UK we are all now dealing with the fact that our Prime Minister is in intensive care and waiting to see how this news plays out.
I love Twitter as a platform for news or connection with (for me) Sports Stars or Politicians but I’ve be shocked by things I’ve seen on it in the last couple of days. I neither support Manchester City or voted for Boris but anyone writing the sort of filth that has been directed towards Pep Guardiola who sadly lost his mother to COVID-19 or to Boris who is a father, (and an expectant father), a son, a brother, and who whatever your views has been working non-stop and doing his best through all this, you are not human and should be ashamed of yourself.
I get the sense that people are beginning to get tired of the situation which is to be expected but the last thing we need is a divisive attitude.
At this time more than ever we should stick together. Going back to work, and how CSC as a recruitment business will come out of this, we will be relying on a number of people, be it clients, candidates, suppliers and our own staff. I am not ashamed to admit that and will be very much front and centre whether it be asking a client or candidate just to stick with us for a week or two and give us that opportunity, as everything will make a big difference.
Today I feel it is about holding on, and sticking together!
