COVID-19: Time for Supply Chain community to step in.

This cartoon represents to me both the nostalgia for homeland (as it's the opening of the best Christmas movie of all times for Russian people) as well as the essence of "sub optimal execution of innovation" professionally.
When supply chain execution fails to deliver to the original design/timeline and performance criteria of the new product (biscuit, beverage or home entertainment system) – it is disappointing. When it is related to failing delivery of a life saving vaccine – it is tragic.
Desperate as vaccine doses ran out and trying to ensure mass immunization against COVID 19 plans stayed on track, European Union restricted export of the shot. Failure to deliver to contractual obligations and lack of transparency on current vaccine volume allocations led to the lost trust in partners, lost hope to resolve it fairly together. We can do better for sure!
I was watching with admiration how our retired health workers and medical school students stood up to the challenge and helped overwhelmed hospitals to care for flooding COVID 19 patients.
Now, when the main challenge is to get vaccines produced and distributed, I am certain we have enough brain power, skills and goodwill within the Supply Chain community to volunteer and support to resolve every problem, just reach out!
We all want to bring forward the moment when we can hug our friends and will do everything in our reach to make it happen.
