Covid-19 test proposal

I work in the water/wastewater distribution industry. Like many other Americans, my job is considered essential to the safety and well-being of the nation. With the advent of a new "quick test" on the horizon, my proposal is that essential workers such as hospital staff, law enforcement officers, firefighters and paramedics, water/wastewater personnel and many others on the front line, be given a mandatory daily test before allowed to work. 

Yes, it will mean a lot of testing, but the tests could prevent a huge outbreak from ravaging the already stressed arteries of the nation’s most vital infrastructure. By doing so, outbreaks of the virus can be minimized so others can continue to work in a safer environment. 

Now, more than ever, this country needs our efforts to be focused on giving the best care and maintaining our best work to ensure the safety of our neighbors and communities. Quick testing could be one of the ways to making that a reality.
