There’s no system that combines direct materials sourcing, supply network modeling (that includes labor/assets), SCM planning, SCRM, and supporting analytics. There’s also no effective private/public governance System (with a big S), but that’s a separate rant altogether.

The spend management is always putting the downward pressure on “cost centers” like the Lab! You’d hope that there would be some multiplier that could be applied once the spend mgrs grasp that 70% of treatment decisions are made based on the results the Lab delivers.
