COVID-19 PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) through the Eyes of a Broker

I entered the PPE sector approximately 6 months ago and I think at this point of time, I have enough script to make a movie (any takers out there do please contact me!). I could have become a 3m direct agent but it was never meant to take over my whole life as I still have my other 'Businesses".

As someone who has been in the International Sales arena for close to 30 years, it was clear that you had find to your 'way' very early on otherwise you are doomed to fail. That word 'fail' doesn't exist for me in my vocabulary and so it was a case of trial and error as in you need to find good suppliers, (without them no deal can take place), good buyers and huge patience sometimes in bringing the two sides together so that the deal will succeed.

Over the last few weeks, I really feel like the PPE sector has reached new heights as in I feel like I’ve been dealing with the Italian Mafia, followed on by the bent American broker who is from high up in the US ranks....and are the brokers involved with these people 'in' on it too?? I have to question that when a second One Trillion mask deal fails because of this yet the buyer is a good buyer. When the broker has the cheek to ask for this deal a deal a third time my answer is to walk away - really? Do they know what is involved in One Trillion masks on the ground? The anger we receive from the supplier about wasting their time. Wait for the backlash from those that will crawl out from under the rocks to start telling me these numbers don't exist. But they do and my Company is dealing with very large quantities of product including cage code deals black (which are the highest level within the White House, so I'm told and this is the Pentagon Level).

To all those that in effect ask us to break the law it isn’t going to happen. 3M have very strict procedures in place but some people are ‘notoriously’ well known in this market for their requests and their behaviour whereby the sellers don't want to deal with them. It reaches the point where I even ask myself if they are working with these other brokers to achieve their bent goals as a group and think that they can find people like us as in my PPE Partner Dr Vicinte Vilez, myself and team to manipulate in the process!

The PPE sector is a complete and utter 'mess'. As a troubleshooter there is only so much cleaning up you can do and the rest is out of ones control which in turn has become a huge frustration. Some of us give 20 hours a day to this 'job' and 95% of deals don't complete and now I can understand why no-one has product! The buyers don't always know what is going on down the line, as in there could be 5 chains between me and the buyer which causes great problems from the very start and the whole industry is driven by a GREED that I have never seen or experienced before in my life! Everyone knows there is silly commission to be made and for this it is full of people that are what I call the 'greedy chancers' and really don't care that this product is needed for a reason/purpose! I have tried to do DD on buyers, get rid of the long chains, but the sharks keep coming and finding new ways to circumvent the brokers, fake buyers, buyers that go AWOL, sellers with no stock...the list goes on and on....

My husband was in the IT industry and I was amazed at how he adapted to the world in which I normally live in. PPE has changed our lives. He will no longer be working away on a weekly basis which after 20 years is enough. That is the plus side of what PPE has given us. We work with a network of really good suppliers some direct to 3M and we have others that are able to provide the other end of the scale which is millions which are not so popular any more and for this reason alone are more expensive that if purchasing billions. We have introduced 2-5% performance bonds in order to sift out the real buyers. 3M should have different procedures in place from the start. Sensitive documents should have been going direct into the hands of a lawyer rather than the hands of fraudsters but that's a discussion for another day.

We deal with buyers on an international scale and can supply product from 50 million upwards which is our MOQ right up to the Trillions and we have even seen orders for Quadrillions. There is only one bank in the US that can handle those deals and that is the Federal Bank of America! We deal with very large cage code deals and again they do exist they are not a figment of our imagination! The Government of America issued instructions to all those sitting on large stocks to sell them or risk having them taken over by the FBI who is involved in every single deal of high volume. We will not deviate from the procedure that is set by 3M. We are law abiding people and have a great team and work within a great network and our number one goal is not the commission but to supply product to those who really need it. So please don't contact us unless you are very serious because we really waste too much of our precious time on time wasters!
