Our team at G2Xchange and FedHealthIT have had conversations with dozens of leaders from Government and industry over the past several weeks, discussing the best way to handle in-person events in light of the current coronavirus outbreak.
An effective Federal sector is driven by a collaborative group of companies, agencies, organizations, and leaders who benefit greatly from face-to-face interaction.
For every one Government and industry leader that has offered their concerns to us about the risks associated with holding face-to-face events, we have heard from another who has raised concerns that if these face-to-face events, which serve as a primary backbone for how Government communicates and engages with industry shut down, the end product, the important services that the Federal community delivers in support of the citizens of the United States, will suffer.
As a way of addressing both the health concerns expressed and the interest in keeping lines of communication open, today we are announcing that any and all G2Xchange or FedHealthIT events will move to an online format until the COVID-19 concerns subside. While we have not had any speakers or sponsors cancel (thank you), there is much we are learning about this virus that we do not understand and therefore, we feel that the prudent thing to do is to err on the side of safety of our members, their families and of the greater community. That being said, this community has gained incredible ground over the past few years in terms of collaboration and communication and we want to ensure there is the ability for that to continue. Watch for more about the small handful of events we host and facilitate to be shared soon.

Now more than ever Communication is critical for the Federal sector. We need more dialogue, we need more leaders working the issues, we need more and different ideas and innovation being pushed forward. Industry needs to hear more from Government leaders, especially in pressing areas of need. While we expect face-to-face events to continue to be shut down in the days and weeks ahead, we expect many of these organizations will step in to fill the gap by engaging in alternative online options.
