COVID-19 | The new normal

Strategic Thinking & Optimism are my Superpowers
I know we can't hug or extend a greeting with a handshake right now, and social-distancing remains part of the new normal in maintaining relationships - but as I was reminded of, in one of the many webinars I've been listening to over the past couple months, as I self-isolate and try to use these unprecedented times to further educate and inform myself on innovative and sustainable strategies, the act of empathy has been a constant catch phrase.
Empathy, compassion, consideration, decency, and humanity are frames of reference we can use in our personal and professional lives, as we contemplate how a pandemic can encompass a broad range of emotions to help and heal society.
By example, Apolitical hosted a webinar that focused on restarting everything/anything post-Covid-19 and how the need to respond to other looming crises was imminent (including unemployment, economic recession, global climate change, capitalism, etc.).
Edmonton Chamber of Commerce's Advocacy webinar highlighted the impact the coronavirus has had on business, and the importance of regular interaction with decision-makers and government stakeholders during unprecedented times.
'Be remembered for the ability to convey an idea in an impactful way' was the takeaway from a virtual public speaking masterclass for public servants I participated in, recently, while ‘Leadership lessons from the Italian Crisis’ rounded out the last of my most recent webinar learning experience.
Optimum Talent hosted the webinar, featuring Cetti Galante, Managing Director of INTOO, where discussions of how the Italian government enacted drastic and sudden quarantine measures, and how business has changed as a result, including growing trends, new habits, and the psychological impact on the workforce.
As we navigate the impact of the new normal, especially on our business strategies – my colleagues and I at Aurora Strategy Group are poised to help you develop and implement innovative and sustainable public relations’ plans. Visit our website to find out more or contact me directly. I can’t wait to extend a virtual handshake in your direction.
Stay smart and sane, friends. This too shall pass, and we can move on to the new normal with confidence and empathy.
