COVID-19 in India

As of May 12, the number of newly diagnosed COVID-19 cases in India exceeded 300,000 in a single day for 21 consecutive days, with a total of more than 23 million confirmed cases and a total of more than 250 thousands deaths.

Recently, the World Health Organization stated that from the analysis of the situation from April 26 to May 2, 46% of the new confirmed cases and 25% of the new deaths in the world came from India, and there are signs that the Indian epidemic is ongoing spread to neighboring countries.

This has also affected neighbouring countries in India, such as Nepal, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, and various localities have successively introduced epidemic prevention and control policies.
