‘B’ is my answer.
Isolation makes us do funny things, and for me I have to say that far too many times for my liking I find myself agreeing with the current Prime Minister….it is forecast to be a lovely weekend, don’t get seduced to go to the park/ walk up Mount Snowden. Stay at home!
It is interesting to see that a lot of our clients are now using the governments furlough scheme in large numbers, 1000-2000 staff in some cases. Absolutely right, and that is what it is there for. Business need this facility and hopefully it will give everyone enough wriggle room to get through this and be in a position to carry on.
Today must be an optimistic day as I do feel that the construction industry is going to get a lot of help after this crisis is over, it is a massive employer and the thing the country needs going forward is jobs (and lots of them) and, by definition, tax payers.
Of course, there will be some casualties, but there are casualties in the good times too, construction businesses gout of business in relatively good times but there will be an inevitability after this period.
The one thing I can say with experience is that remembering 2008-2009, the last time the market took a huge hit, good people were by and large still in work and still in demand.
Have a good weekend, and stay safe everyone!
p.s ‘B’ is also my answer to the clip going around or the chap who is asked ‘Would you A. Be isolated with your wife and kids, or B………’
Only, joking, but lets just say I appreciate going to work and will complain less about my commute after tihs! (And I’ll drop their teachers an extra bottle of wine in July!!!)
