Construction Recruitment Director? Recruiter of Construction Professionals?Construction Recruitment Specialist
The end of another week. No entry yesterday as routine is starting to kick in. We, like hopefully a lot of recruitment business with less work are taking advantage of the governments business continuity schemes, and thank goodness we have that. Most of that work is now done.
Two of the team have their sons and daughters 5th birthdays today, what a welcome distraction from everything around them!
For some of us, it is still business as usual but of course, when I say, that it is far from usual. We are here, we are available, we have some roles to work and we are treating those like precious gifts, work to do that can be done safely from home.
I’m still keeping up my daily walk, and now I take one of my children with me on rotation to make sure they get out and ‘get their steps in’ (both have a child fit bit and love to show me the fireworks if they get to 10,000).
I seem to cope well during the day, the distraction of work and the planning for others is my distraction but I’m finding the evening tough and the nights more so. I have elderly parents, so worry about them (although they are doing everything by the book), a sister who is a front-line ITU nurse and of course my immediate family. Also despite the government help, we don’t know how long this will last and what the world will look like afterwards. I’m sure like many small business owners, our livelihoods and our houses are at risk and for me those thoughts weigh heavily.
On the odd time I pass by someone on my walks I make sure I smile at the person passing by and most of the time they smile back…I think we are going to need a lot of smiling after this is over, as we all try and pick up the pieces as there will be a lot of tears in the coming months.
Have a good weekend everyone and stay safe!
