In my article today I would like to shed the lights from a series of personal experiences on the courier companies in Kuwait and what you may have not known about private and local courier companies and services in KuwaitBeing in the business field for a while now, the Kuwait market remains interesting to me in so many ways. Having several international and local logistics companies in Kuwait makes it easier for clients and companies to chose the company they desire to work with in regards to their orders/ shipments.

Almost all the Courier companies in Kuwait are mastered by owners and are part of the private sector but, many people are unaware of the role played by the ministry of communications and the Kuwait general administration of customs in the handling of shipments both locally and internationally without charges and in acceptable timeframe. Just like any country in the world the Kuwaiti government runs its logistic services which duty charges and taxes do not exceed 10$ at the very max for personal orders.

The ministry of communications does not only manage the local postal service sector but in addition manages other highly important sectors of the country since 1962 and the Kuwait general administration of customs since 1899 .Their delivery service is outstanding compared to the fact that the online tracking system has recently been introduced through where clients are able to keep tracks of their received and/or sent orders. The duty charges are extremely moderate baring in mind that Kuwait is a tax-free country; the main reason to the cheap custom charges. The delivery time is just a week later to what Courier companies such as Postaplus and Aramex promises.

With the importance of logistics anywhere in the world, many big named companies such as DHL, FedEx and UPS being in the market for over 50 years are constantly developing their systems and methods to provide excellent services, thus, regardless of their high charges their services remain unbeatable and their delivery time cuts down to 1/4 or even less compared to what other companies promises.

In the contrary, Services of other newly established companies such as Aramex and Postaplus seems to draw backwards every year. Although their charges remain moderate, the charges by both companies keep increasing and the delivery time keeps going up. When issues are escalated the call center team keep repeating robotic answers without helping or even caring about resolving issues. Their delays and high charges are always blamed on the Kuwait government/customs which is NOT true.

living in one of the richest countries in the world, Kuwait offers numerous logistics services for people with costs ranging from free to moderate and from moderate to high depending on the service. Hence, you as a customer have the option to chose what best suits and meets your requirements in regards to your received or sent shipments. Therefore, my dear readers never be fooled by the high costs set by courier companies saying that these costs were for custom charges' clearances. Neither be fooled that their delays are caused due to the Kuwaiti customs' processes because your shipments are cleared by the Kuwaiti customs within two days unless further checks are required.

To summarise, i would like to thank the ministry of communication and the Kuwait general administration of customs for all the hard work they put in and i look forward into seeing these organisations harvest and work ahead towards developing more advanced systems to further ease and save people's time and money.
