Courageous Mindset

Living in the Pacific Northwest has allowed me to explore a new hobby that had never previously crossed my mind. I have gone on over ten hikes and discovered a variety of trails in the past year. Some of the paths have been challenging and steep, with unexpected up-and-down hills and different type of weather conditions encountered while hiking in the beautiful forests.

Every time I go on a hike, I feel courageous, alive, and ready to face the obstacles encountered on the trails. Although I never know what to expect when going on each hike, I feel a sense of accomplishment and pride afterwards for completing each one. Hiking has enabled me to experience new mental and physical sensations by embracing the outdoors and stepping outside of my comfort zone and the familiarity I feel in the gym.

Challenging myself to being comfortable with the unknown is something that I am learning to navigate and accept. Instead of being protective of every step of the way, I am learning to embrace the unknown and be centered in the present. Like the trails, life is full of ups and downs. Remaining positive and envisioning a positive outcome is my ultimate goal.
