Courage Uncommon

Hi guys.

It's Wednesday, the 1st of February 2023 and, I've lived 50 years in this world of ours so far. And, just as any human being alive has a right to their own opinion and beliefs, I do too.

And, that is not an attempt to convince myself of the irrefutable and, inalienable fact of that right. It's to indicate clearly that as I am assured of my right to do so, I also acknowledge the right of every living human being too to the same right.

She's an #American and, we have never met physically. Right out of the blue, without any previous real or substantial "connection", she invited me to her Eternal Life Student podcast - https://www.youtube.com/@eternallifestudent2293 to talk about the challenges of being a Nigerian in relation to dealing with the stereotype occasioned by the justifiable reputation of Nigerians being scammers thanks to the few of the 213.4 million of us.

We've been splendid friends ever since. Those kinds of friendships that you don't seem to have to work at and just is where, whenever you communicate or get in touch with one another, it seems as if you've always been in touch when that isn't the case.

I really hate scammers because of the additional obstacle that they throw on the path of those of us who are just #decent , #hardworking #Nigerians without connection with and in the government at any of its three levels of, the #local #government , #state and #federal or, the #privatesector who give us jobs that we might not necessarily #qualify for or, even any job at all or contracts that we might not necessarily qualify for, be able to execute or even execute at all in the end and just make our lives all-round easier, nor into #moneyrituals , #kidnapping or #scamming for that matter.

It is #wrong and #wicked to let us all be tainted with the brush of being #scammers , making everyone wary of #connecting with us or having anything to do with us.

It is wicked considering that we have so, so much to offer and, because of the fact that the #economy of the #country is mainly geared primarily and, almost solely to #commodities being valued more than #intellectualproperty , we have little or no hope of being able to #exchange or #leverage what we have to offer which is #intellectualproperty for a livelihood.

I really have nothing but, hatred for them. All that I think of when I think of them is #extermination . I'm sorry. I really am but, I can't help it. I am in a position to have some idea of what those of us willing and able to work lose because of the #reputation and, the absolutely understandable #wariness ad maybe even outright #fear that they've made people in the position to work with us, develop for us as a people generally.

It takes a #special kind of person with a unique kind of #courage and #compassion to take the risk to go ahead and #connect with and have anything to do with any Nigerian online without having ever met him or her in person or in a video. And, even at that.

So, I want to use this #opportunity to say, "Thank you" to all of you who have connected with me who themselves are not scammers. I added that bit because I suspect that some of the people that I am connected with might be based off of some weird vibes I get from some. Very tiny few of course.
