The COURAGE to Transform Learning & Development

There’s a transformation taking place in learning and development. We’re talking more about the link between learning and business outcomes. There’s a focus on development as a driver of employee performance. And most exciting is the emergence of measurement for insights on L&D's impact and analytics to inform decisions about L&D strategy. It’s great to see the courage in our profession to transform L&D!?

The COURAGE Model? transforms learning and development into a performance-focused, results-driven, measurement-based organization. The model fulfills learning and development’s purpose with measurable results. It transforms the way we work, the perceptions we have (and the business) about our role and the way we engage with the people and businesses we serve.?

As a long-time talent development professional, I’ve seen trends come and go.?There have been shifts in philosophy and method. Technology comes and goes in waves. The transformational shift to L&D professionals becoming trusted performance advisors who offer learning and development solutions that produce measurable results will transcend the shifting popularity of other trends.?

It takes COURAGE to transform learning and development!

Each step of The COURAGE Model? brings us closer to helping organizations be successful. I am certain that learning and development is a driver of performance and ultimately, a valuable contributor to business results. I see an increasing number of colleagues, peers and L&D leaders taking transformative steps toward a new L&D. What does it take to transform learning and development? It takes COURAGE!

A simple, powerful truth; that it takes COURAGE. I wish that the common sense you're applying here was common practice Kevin. I think you should right a book, a 'user guide' that takes people by the hand guides them through the process, shows them the benefits associated with COURAGE and - who knows - you might even have some fun along the way. For organizations to realize the greatest business impact for their L&D investment dollars, it’s essential to ensure that the right people are receiving the right development opportunities at the right time. The only way to know your goals will be achieved is to measure your L&D offerings.
