The Courage-research Project Q&A (15) Courage – ‘leave a trail’

As Ralph Waldo Emerson supposed: “Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.”
Some of the valuable lessons I have learned have been from the wisdom of courage that have changed the world. Theodore Roosevelt said, “Far better is it to dare mighty things, to win glorious triumphs, even though checkered by failure…than to rank with those poor spirits who neither enjoy much nor suffer much, because they live in a gray twilight that know not victory nor defeat.”
This is a lesson from time that I have taken to heart in my attitude towards change. When you have the courage to attempt new things, sell new products, use new technology to assist in the efficiency of the work, you will have set backs.
Question:
Is failure the enemy of progress, or a long term ally to help you learn on your journey to success.
