The Courage to Make Decisions that Honor and Multiply Impact
"We limit ourselves through the way we act to make a breakthrough real. You can't just think unconventionally. You must act unconventionally as well." - from Pattern Breakers
When my father created a plan for his business, he had a strong team in place, ready to step up if he could no longer run it. No one could have predicted the rapid onset of dementia that would make this plan a reality sooner than expected.
As a team, we had to make difficult decisions on his behalf, which required courage, faith, and a deep understanding of his values. We faced pushback, doubts, and uncertainty, but we knew honoring his legacy meant more than just following instructions. It meant embodying the unconventional spirit he instilled in us.
The plan was more than just a safety net; it was a blueprint for multiplying his legacy. And because we acted with courage, his impact continues to grow.
Be courageous when you have to make decisions for others. It’s not just about following a plan—it’s about daring to make the hard choices that genuinely honor the vision and values of those who came before us.
Has anyone else faced a moment where you had to step into someone else’s shoes and make the tough decisions? How did you navigate it?
