Courage to create

Courage to create

True Believers are courageous — they leave the world a better place due to the way they live their life and the way they influence other's lives.

When I was at a tipping point in 2011 it was one of the toughest periods of my life. The day I couldn’t get out of bed I knew something was seriously wrong. Hiding what was wrong had begun to seriously affect me. I was paralysed by fear. I feared mostly how much I would disappoint others by making the changes I needed to make.

I was fearful that those that mattered to me would reject me. I felt guilty wishing for a life greater than the life I already had. I was scared that walking away from a 12-year career and family business was walking away from everything I had worked hard for – high income, relationships and legacy. I was scared that if I made the decision to leave, with no money coming in, we would lose the investments we had worked hard to build up over two decades.

For that period in time I had become a non-believer.

Even with all of my previous belief, conviction and commitment that had served me so well, I had fallen down the bottom of the ladder.

At this time, as a non-believer, there was just one major thing that got me through. It was courage — the courage to live the life I chose. I had to take responsibility and take a courageous leap towards the life I wanted, in the face of fear.

And this is what I did and what True Believers do — even if at times they find themselves non-believers — they take courageous and consistent action towards creating their own life masterpiece. They commit! Then the next opportunity comes along to be courageous and we know how important it is to act and to avoid unnecessary pain.

In the wise words of Nelson Mandela, There is no passion to be found in playing small, in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

What are you passionate about?

Are you prepared to take a courageous leap towards living that life?
