The Courage to build a Human Organization
It's said that "It's great to be great, but it's greater to be human".
Creating a human organization requires courage, and in current scenarios, it is a known fact that many of us fear taking on this challenge. It is due to the fact that it requires us to shatter traditional ways of thinking about employees in every possible manner. It means breaking away from traditional hierarchical structures and creating a culture of trust, mutual respect, and empowerment. It also requires being open to feedback and willing to make changes when necessary.
At ScaleupAlly, we are aiming to build a Human Organization. It has been one of the core focus in 2022- To create an organization where a bond of love exists. An organization that focuses on building trust, fostering positive relationships, and promoting a culture of respect and empathy. It requires a willingness to take risks, to be vulnerable, and to put the well-being of others before one's own self-interest. It means being open to feedback and willing to make changes when necessary.
In the last 8 months, we have taken the following major steps to create a Human Organization.

- Reinforce the purpose and goals of the organization: At ScaleupAlly, we started reinforcing our Purpose and Goals in our Quarterly Progress Townhalls.
- Lead by Example: Every Manager in the ScaleupAlly needs to demonstrate the importance of feedback and be open to receiving it oneself. It has encouraged others to accept and work on their feedback.
- Encourage open communication: We are working on creating an environment where employees feel comfortable sharing their thoughts and feedback. Regular check-ins, town hall meetings, or HR one-on-one meetings have been designed to do this. Moreover, we are following an open-door policy which facilitates easy communication and gives people a feeling that they are being heard. One can speak their heart open and discuss everything, be it professional or personal.
- Peer-to-Peer Appreciation: ScaleupAlly is encouraging employees to recognize and appreciate their colleagues on events like Birthday Celebrations, Year Completion, Spot awards, etc. It has created a positive loop and increased participation in peer-to-peer appreciation. This has been a blockbuster since the start.
- Celebrate successes: Celebrating successes as a team, whether it's achieving a goal, reaching a milestone or just completing a project, is being a new normal at ScaleupAlly.
- Avengers Assemble: We have redesigned our interview process to focus on identifying individuals who are passionate about their lives and have untapped potential. They are the guys that have not yet been recognized by others. By providing them with the opportunity, we believe they can excel in their roles.
Building a human organization requires humility, empathy, and a deep understanding of human behaviour. It is not easy, but when done right, it can lead to incredible results, both for the organization and for the individuals who make it up.
We are seeing the results of it in our Recent Engagement Survey where the "Job Security and Company Culture" rating has increased from 3.92 to 4.2 compared to 2021 survey.
Creating a human organization is a continuous process that requires ongoing effort, adaptation, and commitment to the mission. It is just the start at ScaleupAlly. It is time for us to embrace change and create a truly human organization that values and supports its employees.?
