T - Minus 152 Days
Instead of a birthday, I call today the second year of bonus life outliving my father.
When I was 16, my father died suddenly of a heart attack taking the trash cans to the curb under the old oak tree I used to play on.
"I'm so sorry Kevin, your father died last Tuesday", mom said.
"WHAT?" was the last word I barely managed for the next couple of days.
Blubbering uncontrollably What do I do now? was all I could think.
I was already afraid that I would never accomplish anything in life and now my dad was gone when I needed him most.
He told me once "Don't worry if other people laugh at you, just set an example by trying your best."
