County Seat Spirits awarded Bronze Medal for its “Lock Keeper” Gin at National Spirits Competition; Expands Distribution

ALLENTOWN, PENNSYLVANIA — County Seat Spirits – Allentown’s first distillery since prohibition -- is pleased to announce that its “Lock Keeper Gin” was awarded a Bronze Medal at 2015 The Washington Cup Competition. The Washington Cup Competition is an annual competition for American-made Spirits. The 2015 Washington Cup features both small craft distillers like County Seat Spirits and national brands such as Buffalo Trace and Heaven Hill Brands.

“We are very proud to bring an award for our Lock Keeper Gin to the Lehigh Valley and to Allentown,” said Co-Founder Anthony Brichta. “This is the first competition we have entered and our Lock Keeper Gin was our only submission, so we are very proud to have been awarded a medal.”

Lock Keeper Gin is served at more than a dozen Lehigh Valley bars and restaurants including grain., The Hamilton Kitchen, Roar Social House, Hush, Shula’s, and The Dime in Allentown, The Broadway Social, Taps Tavern and the Bookstore Speakeasy in Bethlehem, and Maxim’s 22 and Two Rivers Brewing Company in Easton. Lock Keeper Gin is also served at White Orchids Thai Cuisine in Center Valley, the Limeport Inn in Coopersburg, and at the Slopeside Pub and Grille at Blue Mountain in Palmerton, PA. Additionally, residents of Pennsylvania will also soon be able to purchase Lock Keeper Gin and other County Seat Spirit Products at Pennsylvania State Liquor Stores. “We have been notified that our spirits will be placed in PLCB Stores this Fall and we hope to be on select local shelves in the next few months,” Brichta said.

In addition to County Seat Spirits, Pennsylvania Distilleries winning awards at The Washington Cup included Mountain Laurel Spirits from Bristol, Pennsylvania for their Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey (Bronze) and their Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey finished in Vermouth Barrels (Bronze), CJ Spirits from Kane, Pennsylvania for their Wild Gin (Bronze) and Spirits of Gettysburg Distillery for their Burnt Bum Rum (Bronze), Vodka (Bronze) and Peach Brandy (Bronze).
