Countries: Samoa

Samoa is an island country in Polynesia. It is located northeast of Tonga, Fiji, east of Wallis and Futuna, southeast of Tuvalu, south of Tokelau, southwest of Hawaii, and northwest of Niue.?

The?Lapita, an Austronesian?people who traveled from?the island Melanesia, discovered and settled the?Samoan Islands?around 3,500 years ago. They developed a?Samoan language and Samoan cultural identity.

The region of Melanesia includes Fiji, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, Papua New Guinea. Its people are believed to have dispersed from?Africa along the southern edge of?Asia.?

The?Bantu peoples?are an?indigenous grouping?of approximately 400 distinct native?African?ethnic groups?who speak?Bantu languages.?

During a wave of expansion, Bantu-speaking populations gradually left their original homeland of West-Central Africa and traveled to the eastern and southern regions of the continent.

The?Austronesian peoples?are a large group of peoples in?Taiwan,?Maritime Southeast Asia, parts of?Mainland Southeast Asia,?Micronesia, coastal?New Guinea,?Island Melanesia, Polynesia, and?Madagascar?that speak?Austronesian languages.?

They’re believed to have originated from a seaborne migration, known as the Austronesian expansion, from?Taiwan, c. 3000-1500 BC.

Groups classified as Micronesian include the?Carolinians?(Northern Mariana Islands),?Chamorros?(Guam?&?Northern Mariana Islands), Chuukese, Mortlockese, Namonuito, Paafang, Puluwat?and Pollapese?(Chuuk),?I-Kiribatin (Kiribati), Kosraeans (Kosrae), Marshallese (Marshall Islands), Nauruans?(Nauru), Palauan, Sonsorolese, and Hatohobei (Palau), Pohnpeians, Pingelapese, Ngatikese, Mwokilese (Pohnpei), and Yapese, Ulithian, Woleian, Satawalese?(Yap).

Samoa's early history is interwoven with the history of certain chiefdoms of?Fiji?and of the kingdom of?Tonga.

Around 950 AD, warriors from Tonga arrived. Tu?i Tonga??Aho?eitu started to expand his rule outside of?Tonga into?Oceania?reaching its peak during the period 1200–1500 AD.

Melanesians?are the predominant and?indigenous inhabitants?of?Melanesia, in an area stretching from?New Guinea?to the?Fiji Islands.

Following the Great Flood (c. 2100 BC), which destroys all of humanity except the family of Noah, Genesis 10 presents a family tree in the form of a branched or segmented genealogy, tracing the descendants of Noah’s three sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, and their descendants. Many of these names become future nations, tribes, lands and cities, known to us from elsewhere in the Bible and from extra-biblical sources: Accordingly, this chapter is referred to as the “Table of Nations.”

In the Book of Genesis, the mountains of Ararat is the term used to designate the region in which Noah's Ark comes to rest after the Great Flood (c. 2100 BC), which destroys all of humanity except the family of Noah.

From these eight people …. Noah, his sons and their wives …? the whole earth was populated.
