Family First and Foremost
Family is the cornerstone of my gratitude. I am deeply thankful that all of my children were born healthy and grew up happy. Now, as young adults, they continue to bring joy into my life with their cute as a button faces.? My oldest baby is now married, and while I eagerly await the day I become a grandmother, I trust that it will happen when the time is right.? I just hope I'll have the self-control not to spoil them too much... who am I kidding ~ they are already spoiled!
Recently, I embarked on a beautiful new journey as a newlywed. My husband and I waited until we were both empty nesters before moving in together and getting married last month.? It’s been an interesting transition, and we are both looking forward to the future with excitement and love—though we’re still adjusting to the absence of adolescent chaos.
I am also deeply grateful for having made it out safely from my first marriage, which was terminated due to domestic violence.? This experience has made me even more appreciative of the love and safety I now have.
Thanksgiving Traditions and Culinary Joys
This Thanksgiving, I am especially thankful for my parents, who are hosted dinner at their home this year.? Growing up with both parents has been a blessing, and I cherish every moment we spend together.? I am also grateful for the opportunity to contribute to our Thanksgiving feast with some of my favorite dishes: macaroni and cheese, potato salad, peach cobbler, jalape?o cornbread, and lemon drop cocktails.? In case you're curious about my secret ingredients —it’s love... and a bit of butter.
