As I am counting down from sunny LA to my book launch in London in one month time, I am celebrating July’s main highlights and those who contributed to this exciting month!

Big News: Book Launch Countdown!

I’m over the moon about my upcoming book, hitting the shelves on August 22nd! Reflecting on this journey, I’m filled with gratitude. Levina Li reminded me in a recent LinkedIn Live, that looking forward often means celebrating our past wins—both small and big—and recognizing the lessons from the challenges we faced.

My Dare to Dream

Believe it or not, my book began with a dare—much like many of my life’s major milestones. Known for my courage and unwavering belief that anything is possible, I was inspired by my son's story-in-the-making to write my own. It took a village of supporters, as Sara Milne Rowe mentioned in our last LinkedIn Live, and I am so thankful for my advocates.

The Power of Advocacy

Advocacy, one of the core elements of Audacity, and a full chapter in my book, is something I’m deeply passionate about. When you lift others up, they lift you too. This beautiful, never-ending circle of giving is truly like the circle of life. Kindness, while sometimes not immediately reciprocated, always finds its way back to you in unexpected ways.

A Heart-warming Surprise

And speaking of kindness, I received a delightful surprise this month! Talented writer Alice Olins penned an incredible piece about my book on Substack. We had only a brief 15-minute encounter last year, which she remembered better than I did! Thanks to our mutual friend Shona Abhyankar , Alice received an early copy of my book and felt inspired to write about it.

Reflections and Revelations

As I reflect on my journey toward celebrating my book release, I’ve uncovered 5 key principles and beliefs that have guided my life so far:

1.??????? Give with One hand, Receive with Two.?This principle has always worked wonders for me.? When you give selflessly, the Universe rewards you abundantly. Try it yourself!

?2.??????? Sharing is Caring. Acts of kindness, like sharing (including advocating) create ripples of positivity. Whether it’s knowledge, time, resources, sharing enriches lives, including your own. Remember, a small gesture can make a big difference.

?3.??????? It's going to be OK in the end; if it's not OK, it's not the end. Life has its ups and downs, but every challenge is temporary. Take comfort in knowing that tough times don’t last. Stay resilient and may be surprised when everything just turns out fine.

?4.??????? You don't ask, you don't get. Opportunities often come to those who seek them. Don’t be afraid to ask for what you need or want. The worst that can happen is a No! And that’s still much better than never knowing. My son spotted a celebrity he is a fan of, in LA today, and dared to initiate a conversation. He now has another story to tell ;-)

?5.??????? Just do it—experiment first and learn second. Dive into new experiences without hesitation. Embrace a learning mindset and accept that mistakes are just stepping stones to mastery. Take that leap and discover where it leads.
