How's your 2022 goals going? This is where the rubber meets the road, eh? Once you start the journey, you begin to see there are areas to be considered or planned for - one could say counting the cost. What kind of energy and preparation will this journey cost me?
That's what Alex Honnold had to do before attempting his free solo climb of El Capitan in California's Yosemite National Park. He prepared for years - yes, years. Free Solo means he climbed with no ropes or safety harness. His only tools were hands, feet and a bag of chalk. One mistake could have sent him to his death.
He practiced and prepared for every kind of contingency, expanding his skills: "With enough preparation, it wasn't scary anymore. I knew I could do it...If I had to choose one lesson, I would choose preparation and putting in the work - not being stopped by something that seems impossible."*
Before going one more step on that year long goal, consider the cost. What will it take to get you there? What investment in preparation do you need to make? You could even consider coaching to keep you accountable on the journey. It would be my pleasure to walk with you toward your goals. Blessings on your journey.
