Could your next event or tradeshow use a special (cool) little something?

Could your next event or tradeshow use a special (cool) little something?

Every event organizer hopes attendees talk about their experience weeks, months, even years later.

We call it word-of-mouth , don't we?

It's one of the ways that more people hear about your event.

It's one of the things that leads to more people registering for your next event.

So you WANT to get people talking about your event. It's a no-brainer.

But, how do you make that happen?

All kinds of ways, right?

It's that last one I want to help you with.

If you can come up with what I call "special little somethings" that your attendees love, utilize, and tell others about... you're onto something.

That's why I created a Mobile Podcast Studio for events and on-site corporate recording sessions.

It's a great way to put a special (and cool) touch on your event — AND it's one of the easiest done-for-you services you could imagine.

My team brings the booth to your event. We set it up. We run it. We record the sessions for you using broadcast-quality equipment.

We'll even provide the digital recordings to you or the participants via flash drive or Cloud services.

There are optional audio editing and production services available as well.

How would YOU use a mobile podcast studio at your next event?

There are lots of ways — probably only limited by your creativity. But here are some of the most common.

USE CASE 1: Your Voice = Industry Voice

Your podcast could become the industry voice (all because you host the industry's event)
You could become the voice your industry listens to.

If you are running an event for your industry, why not take advantage of that fact to become the news and information source of that industry?

One of our clients will be using our recording studio at their event this fall.

Here is the game plan...

  • Schedule recording sessions with industry leaders already attending their event.
  • Our team will capture those recordings.
  • Our team will edit and produce them into podcast episodes.
  • In this case, our team is even scheduling that content to publish for them along with SEO friendly show notes/blog posts on their website.
  • When all is said and done, they will have 17 podcast episodes — an entire season of their own podcast.

This will enable them to become "the voice of their industry" over time, by profiling and tapping into the knowledge of those who are already recognized as industry leaders.

Their podcast will become the platform for all the important conversations happening in the development of their industry's technologies and approaches.

Provide a mobile podcast studio as a registration add on for your event attendees.
Recoup costs through offering a Mobile Podcast Studio as a registration add on for attendees of your event.

USE CASE 2: Registration Add-On for Attendees

It's not uncommon for events to have "bonus" sessions, pre-event training, or post-event engagement sessions which sell as "Add-Ons" to the event.

You can use our Mobile Podcast Studio in the same way.

For example:

Offer your registrants 1 hour of recording time in our studio for an additional $100 at the time of registration (I'm just grabbing a number out of the air for sake of illustration).

Your attendee gets a reserved spot in our studio to record a conversation with someone they meet at your event (to publish on their podcast, YouTube channel, website, etc.).

You get a flashy new perk to offer your attendees.

And the whole thing can happen because our professional technician will run the recording session for them. All the attendee has to do is make the recorded conversation the best it can be.

Digital files will be provided to them on the spot when they are finished, or uploaded to a cloud storage provider and shared with them.

If your industry is one where podcasts or podcasters are plentiful, you won't have any trouble getting those spots filled up.

A mobile recording studio at your event could be an amazing value add to justify your event cost.
Offer recording time to all event attendees on a first-come, first-served basis.

USE CASE 3: First Come, First Served

Some may decide to offer the Mobile Recording Studio as a "Self-service" option, of sorts.

  • No pre-scheduled time slots (less work for you)
  • First-come, first-served recording time available for all attendees.
  • Our team handles all the details at the booth as attendees arrive at the studio.
  • We manage an on-the-fly schedule as it develops.
  • You sit back and watch your attendees enjoy the bonus perk!

If you work this into your pricing ahead of time, you have a unique value-add to your event that justifies the price tag and makes attendees remember your event.

And don't forget about the impact this is having on those being recorded. That one recording could be the exposure that sends them into their next big opportunity.

And they'll remember that it happened at your event.

USE CASE 4: Mix and match

If you have the bandwidth at your event, mix and match these use cases to make the most of the resource while it is available.

Our team will be there to run it for whatever use you have.

Our equipment will be available to capture the audio flawlessly.

And we'll take care of it from beginning to end so you don't have to.

Sell sponsorships for your mobile podcast studio to cover the costs.
Here's how you DON'T pay for our mobile podcast studio.

And someone else can pay for it

If you are an , you know all about securing event sponsors, so I'm not telling you anything new here.

But if you put the RIGHT sort of attention on the mobile podcast studio at your event, those who sponsor the booth will get even MORE eyes on their brand.

You can offer it in your sponsorship options in a way that emphasizes the tremendous exposure sponsors will get through this unique offering.

Here's what I mean...

I've seen events where a podcast recording booth was so busy, people were standing in line to capture conversations with the people they've met.

Imagine all those people seeing your sponsor's branding as they wait in line! Is that something you could sell?

And here is the real kicker (to me):

You can have more than one sponsor for the mobile recording booth.

Notice the illustrated signage on the image below... those display areas can be for one or multiple sponsor names or logos.

It's quite realistic that you won't only cover the costs for the Mobile Podcast Studio, but that you'll actually make money on it.

Sponsorships can make money for your event.

This is not a sales pitch... really.

I do my best NOT to be that typical salesy guy.

I agree with what my client and friend Paul Watts, CSL CSE CPSC says, that when sales is done right, it can (and should) be a profession to be proud of.

Why? Because a true salesperson is focused more on helping people than selling them.

That's what this article is about for me.

I truly believe that this Mobile Podcast Studio could cause your next or to be more unique, more valuable, and more memorable for your attendees and speakers alike — and therefore, more profitable for you..

And that is an honest and tangible WIN for everyone involved.

Carey, I have returned back to this page a dozen times bc a) I'm friends w/the Smart Energy Voices folks, b) I had also pitched a podcast studio to their now-parent company but they told me they're working with you, and c) i do this for a living as well, and would Love to compare notes w/a fellow Christian business owner on similar paths (well, we were, till you handed off to Aaron - best of luck in Ministry again!) Hoping we can still connect. I'll be in DC w/my crew for Podcast Movement so I'm sure I'll get to find/meet Aaron there too. Love the creativity you've brought to the business. We do/see a lot of things similarly!
