Could you sponsor an adventure?

We're delighted to welcome 80 new 11 and 12 year olds onto the YAT Adventure Programme, who will be with us for the next two years. This incredible opportunity, which won't cost them a penny, will give them outdoor experiences they wouldn't otherwise have and a chance to build the resilience they need to face their challenges. We know that the current cost of living crisis is having a huge impact on the young people we work with, all of whom are vulnerable and all of whom need our support to reach their full potential. Our activity days and residential camps are more important than ever - together we can inspire young lives.

Meet Poppy

Image of a 12 year old girl with text explaining the reason for her referral: struggles to socialise. Poppy experienced early childhood trauma and was adopted. She feeld threatened by other people, really struggles to make friends and has low self-esteem.

The adventure begins... Can you help a young person like Poppy?

Poppy was extremely nervous about joining the YAT Adventure Programme, but Mum and Programme Manager, Scott, worked together to encourage her to take part in her first adventure - the Explore Day at the end of June. Scott was really pleased to see her giving all of the activities a go and took the opportunity to observe how she was integrating with the rest of the group. He also had a chat with her about her next adventure, Mountain Camp, and helped her to think about her aims:

Poppy's self esteem is really low, so low that she finds it hard to acknowledge positive things and experiences. Coming to Mountain Camp will be a huge challenge for her, and Scott aims to create a safe and friendly environment where Poppy can feel comfortable. Scott's own aim for Poppy is that by the end of the week, Poppy will be able to acknowledge just one good thing about herself.

I want to sponsor an adventure for a young person like Poppy

Half of the young people on our programme don't do any other activities?outside the Youth Adventure Trust and the cost of living crisis is having an impact on 98% of our families!

We need supporters like you to sponsor young people like Poppy.?When you?'sponsor an adventure', you'll be helping?young people like...

Image is of three young people and their reasons for referral to YAT: Jack, age 13 - being bullied at school; Katie, age 14 - family are struggling to buy food and school uniforms; and Bradley, age 13 - may be excluded from school because he is making poor choices.

I want to help change young people's lives

You can sponsor an adventure

By sponsoring an adventure, you'll follow a young person’s Youth Adventure journey for 24 months of adventurous activity days and challenging camps.

When you?'sponsor an adventure', you'll get:

  • Regular updates on your young person’s journey

  • The knowledge that you've helped a young person achieve more than they thought they could

If you can spare just £8.27 a month, or £198.48 altogether, you will be covering the cost of 6 activity days for a young person like Poppy, Jack, Katie and Bradley.?You will make a life-changing difference!?We know times are hard at the moment, so any amount you are able to give will have a real impact on the young people we support.

Sponsor an Adventure

Over the past 22 years I have watched thousands of young people face their fears, overcome challenges and build their resilience through the YAT Adventure Programme. I know it's making a huge difference to their lives, but we can't do it without you. Please?Sponsor An Adventure?today so we can continue to give some of the most vulnerable young people an opportunity to lead better lives in the future.
