Could You Perform at a Higher Level?

This week I met with a Business Owner who was struggling to find their rhythm.? She mentioned that it felt like she was doing things, but she did not feel like she was getting real momentum (for herself and her people).? Anyone feeling the same?

As we reflected on her challenge, she realised that she had limited her mindset—and this was limiting her performance. ??In our mentoring session she had stopped learning and looking for new ways and was getting stuck in the same old approach.? Once she realised this, we could look at a range of other options that she had not really considered.?

It was interesting that some of the ideas she came up with were things she knew, she just had not invested enough time to think through how to implement them in new ways.? At the end of our session, she mentioned she could have been performing at a higher level and just needed someone to help her shift her mindset and approach.? It is incredible how a strategic 20-30minute conversation can help someone shift their thinking and lift their performance.

Here are a few ideas to help you perform at a higher level:

1)??? Share Your Ideas.? One reason why we don’t implement some of the great things that we could is that we do not share the ideas with others.? Often when we share an idea with someone else the energy around the idea picks up—which creates momentum and makes it easier.

2)??? Map Your Idea—Get it out of your head.? How often have you had an idea but could not really get your mind around it.? Don’t keep it in your head!? Take 5-10minutes to capture these great ideas down on paper, tablet or laptop so you can see other options.?

3)??? Work with a Leadership Mentor.? Sometimes we just get stuck and needs someone that will help support and challenge us to step up to the next level.? This could be a trusted friend, advisor or mentor that has wisdom to share, and the relationship to guide you in implementing your ideas.
