Could you partner with us to deliver the new Big Change Prize Fund?

This year marks Big Change’s 10th Birthday. In a recent blog capturing a decade of insights and impact, our CEO wrote that birthdays provide a time for both reflection and setting intentions for the work to come. We’re incredibly proud of the people and organizations we have backed to date and the impact of their work, but resting on our laurels is not our style.?

So, during our 10th year, we are looking to adapt the way we use our grantmaking to incentivize and unlock even greater impact. Inspired by ambitious models such as The Earthshot Prize, we plan to launch a ￡1million Big Change Prize Fund to:

• Catalyze and accelerate progress towards a future where all young people are supported to learn and thrive
• Inspire, support and celebrate people with bold ambitions, ideas and commitment to that change - especially from diverse groups, communities and geographies?

We recently completed a learning sprint examining different prize models and the extent to which they can help us achieve these aims. We also market-tested our early proposition with trusted peers including existing project partners, funders and education sector collaborators. As we move into a more detailed design and delivery phase, we want to work with expert partners to help us develop a best-in-class Prize Fund proposition.

We are looking for one or more partners (as part of a coalition) with relevant experience to help us with:

• Detailed Prize Fund design that builds on our work to date
• Prize Fund delivery
• Communications and engagement for the Prize Fund

We have a ￡100k budget for this work. If you are interested in working with us please get in touch for more information. The process is outlined below.?

• Get in touch to request the full brief for the work - please use “Prize Fund RFP” in the subject line of your email.
• Submit your proposal by Monday, May 23rd, 2022. You can have a chat with a Big Change team member prior to submitting.
• We encourage submissions from coalitions of people/organizations that cover the range of expertise and experience needed, with a lead organization and point of contact identified at the time of submission.

We know that Big Change won’t happen on its own. We look forward to working together to bring this ambitious new stage of our funding work to life.
