Could you do me a BIG favour please?

Could you do me a BIG favour please?

Let me cut to the chase, I’d really appreciate your comments about my updated YouTube channel, a follow there (friends welcome too) and ideas on what you’d like me to do videos about – with huge thanks in advance if you are able to find the time.

By way of background - after what feels like a summer of spring cleaning (including decluttering and recycling a decade of paperwork, and even getting my will and power of attorney sorted!!) I’m starting the autumn with a new lease of life. As part of this I’m committing to my YouTube channel for at least the next 3 months to see what emerges from that activity – including a “do something different everyday challenge” for January.

You see, for 13 years I’ve used my YT channel more like a filing system which I only refer people to during coaching, workshops or in blogs and posts.

Here’s the thing – though – I love recording vlogs and know they’re insightful in a quirky Alisony way – and wondered if I could get the videos more of the attention they deserve.

Which is where getting more followers and sharing content people want (rather than what comes to me) comes in.

The following are a snapshot of my personal favourite videos over the years:

  1. The above laughter filled video from over a decade ago when I stayed behind the camera is a reminder that if we know something has a particular unhelpful outcome we need to stop doing it (turn the sound down first) and is the most watched video on my channel.
  2. This painful (for me) video of my talking whilst doing the plank is a reminder to know what’s on your prescription for wellbeing.
  3. This insightful video invites us to put down the sticks that we’re beating ourselves up with and has had some great feedback from coachees since I recorded it.
  4. I still get goosebumps when I listen to this video of me sharing my “I release all my parts ” poem inviting those of a certain age to step into their eldership and wise woman/man hood.
  5. And finally, a recent addition inviting you to draw your problem as a mountain (including a dog trying to pinch the stick I was drawing my mountain with in the sand on the beach) has received comments from peeps sharing the insight they got from trying out the exercise.

As I tidied up the channel I was also surprised when I realised how many times I’ve been a guest on other people’s podcasts, and have added a playlist of the 36 times an episode has also been loaded into YouTube:

Thank you in advance for whatever action you’re able to do to support me on this, and I’ll be back very soon with the next newsletter sharing new poems, insights and videos using nature to help you to see situations from a different perspective to help you get back on track when you don’t know what to do.

With much love

Alison xx

And of course one query is whether to have a different channel for my poetry or mix it in with the landscaping videos.

I've subscribed, Alison! Looks like you have some great videos for me to get stuck into. I've got a channel recommendation for you. She's called Jane Lindsey. She's a UK midlife woman who's a textile artist in Scotland but what's she's really sharing is how to slow down, appreciate beauty and the natural world, community and getting creative. Her channel is growing steadily. Here's her link: https://www.youtube.com/@snapdragonlife

I applaud this fresh start. I’ve been thinking about doing more short YT videos to teach practice at it’s source- a human being what it takes to do what they love. Like you are doing
