Last week I heard Gok (remember him?) say that he wears all black to work, because he wants to blend into the background!
Now, before you start shouting at me, I'm not saying there is anything wrong with black. But are you in a work uniform rut?
Most of us don’t actually have an official work uniform, but we do tend to wear the same old things every day, with maybe just a few seasonal tweaks. But do those clothes have to be scruffy, worn and just ‘any old thing’?
What makes me want to scream
I've lost count of the times I’ve heard women say “this old thing will do for work” “It doesn’t matter what I look like, it’s only work”
It makes me want to scream!?
Most of us spend a large part of our week in some kind of work situation, so why would we choose to look and feel anything other than our best for these hours?
Now, I’m not saying dress up to the nines every day, but I do believe it helps you to feel good. And we really should value ourselves (and our work) enough to look good. What do you think?
What's Gok, got to do with this?
I was watching a clip from the ITV show, This Morning. Gok was introducing Colours for Spring.
One of the presenters asked him why he was wearing all black, if he was talking about colour.
Gok told the audience that he had got used to wearing all black for work, because he didn’t want to detract any attention away from the women he was styling. He wanted to fade into the background! Watch the clip below

How interesting and admirable?? But, do you want to fade into the background, or do you want to be seen?
Wearing colours that really suit you. Styles that make you feel fabulous and wearing only clothes that are in good condition, will always make you feel fab, no matter what the occasion.
Your wardrobe
Spring is finally here and it's a perfect time to take stock. Are you wearing things, just out of habit? Is it time to try something new?
If you don’t have mediocre clothes in your wardrobe at all, you won’t get tempted to wear them.
Even if you don't go out to work, don't you owe it to yourself to feel good, when you look in the mirror?
So if you are in a...
Scruffy rut, black rut or an I can't be bothered rut, maybe it’s time to take a hard look at what you have?? Break out and feel fab.
Need some help? I have another FREE workshop coming up in May. If you want a wardrobe refresh for Spring/Summer 2024, just comment with a Hell YES here and I will add you to the waiting list.?
